Our Commitment
At RPR Dog Grooming, the safety, comfort, and wellbeing of every dog in our care is our highest priority. We aim to provide a calm, professional, and positive grooming experience for both dogs and their owners.
Appointments
Appointment times are provided as estimates only.
The time required to complete a groom may vary depending on:
- Coat condition and maintenance
- Dog size and breed
- Grooming requirements requested
- Dog behaviour and temperament
- Additional work required during the groom
Whilst we will always aim to provide an accurate collection time, delays may occasionally occur.
Health & Welfare Information
Owners are responsible for providing accurate and up-to-date information about their dog.
Prior to grooming, owners must inform us of any relevant:
- Medical conditions
- Injuries or recent surgery
- Allergies or skin conditions
- Pregnancy or nursing
- Behavioural concerns
- History of aggression or biting
- Other circumstances that may affect the grooming process
Failure to disclose relevant information may result in the appointment being stopped or modified for the safety of the dog and groomer.
Matted Coats
Dogs presented with matted coats may require additional grooming time and specialist handling.
Where matting is severe, it may be necessary to clip the coat close to the skin to remove the matting safely and humanely. In these circumstances, owners will be asked to sign a Matted Dog Disclaimer before the groom proceeds.
An additional matting charge may apply, typically from £10 depending on the severity of the coat condition.
RPR Dog Grooming cannot be held responsible for any pre-existing skin conditions, irritation, sores, bruising, or discomfort that become visible following the removal of severe matting.
Behaviour & Safety
Owners must inform us of any aggressive, anxious, or challenging behaviour before the appointment.
RPR Dog Grooming reserves the right to refuse, modify, or discontinue a groom where a dog's behaviour presents a risk to itself, other dogs, or the groomer.
Where a groom is stopped due to behavioural concerns, charges may still apply for work already completed.
Crating & Waiting Times
To maintain a calm and safe environment, dogs may occasionally be placed in a secure crate while waiting for collection or during operational requirements.
Crates are located in a separate area from the main grooming space and are used only when necessary, such as for early drop-offs, late collections, or short waiting periods.
Fleas & Parasites
If fleas, ticks, or other parasites are discovered during grooming, owners will be informed.
Additional cleaning and sanitation charges may apply where treatment of equipment or the grooming environment is required.
RPR Dog Grooming reserves the right to stop a groom where an infestation is considered severe.
Veterinary Care & Emergencies
Whilst every reasonable care is taken during grooming, dogs can move unexpectedly and grooming involves the use of professional equipment.
In the unlikely event of an accident, injury, or medical emergency, RPR Dog Grooming reserves the right to seek veterinary treatment where immediate care is considered necessary.
Every reasonable effort will be made to contact the owner first. Any veterinary costs incurred remain the responsibility of the owner.
Payments
Payment is due upon collection of your dog unless otherwise agreed.
Prices are based on factors including:
- Breed and size
- Coat condition
- Grooming requirements
- Time required to complete the groom
- Behaviour and handling requirements
Additional charges may apply for matting, excessive de-shedding, parasite treatment, or other circumstances requiring significant additional time.
Cancellations
We kindly request at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
Repeated missed appointments or late cancellations may result in deposits being required for future bookings.
Photography & Marketing
Photographs may occasionally be taken before, during, or after grooming for business records, training, or marketing purposes.
Images may be used on the RPR Dog Grooming website, social media channels, or other promotional materials.
If you do not wish your dog to be photographed, please let us know before your appointment.
Limitation of Liability
RPR Dog Grooming will not be liable for any loss, injury, illness, or damage arising from undisclosed medical conditions, behavioural issues, or other information that has not been provided by the owner.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits liability where it cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Right to Refuse Service
RPR Dog Grooming reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services where:
- A dog's welfare may be compromised
- A dog's behaviour presents a safety risk
- Required information has not been disclosed
- Owners fail to comply with these Terms & Conditions
